Timeline Β· Six Weeks to Live

Hard target: WiFi live before mid-August 2026 (planning deadline Sat Aug 15). Today is Thu Jul 2 β€” that leaves six full working weeks, Jul 6 β†’ Aug 14, with week 6 held as pure buffer. The schedule works, but only if the three long-lead actions all start in week 1.

2–4 wks
Hardware indent (PH)
4–8 wks
Worst-case ISP provisioning
Critical path β€” three constraints, all triggered in W1 (Jul 6–10)
  1. ISP provisioning. Enterprise fiber in PH commonly runs 4–8 weeks when the building has no entry facilities for the chosen provider β€” that alone blows the window. RISE (Cebu-focused) publicly benchmarks a 1.8-week average business install. Mitigation: submit two parallel applications (RISE + PLDT Enterprise or Converge FlexiBIZ) on day one, and have the landlord confirm which ISPs already have building entry. estimate
  2. Hardware indent. U7 Pro XGS and the USW-Pro-XG-10-PoE are typically 2–4 week indent (import) items at PH distributors, not shelf stock. PO with 50% down must be issued this week with a contractual delivery date. estimate
  3. Ceiling closure. The 8 Cat6A drops (193 m measured) must be pulled before the suspended ceiling closes. The fit-out GC controls that date and the plan is still DRAFT 02 β€” get the close date in writing in W1 and book the pull for W3. Pulling after closure costs 2–3Γ— and risks a 1–2 week slip.

Week-by-week plan

THU JUL 2 β€” TODAY
Design locked, dossier issued
Paul
7Γ— U7 Pro XGS (6 new + 1 reused), UCG-Fiber reused as gateway/controller, USW-Pro-XG-10-PoE, 8 Cat6A drops (193 m), 12U wall rack, 1–1.5 kVA UPS. See BOM and Network Design.
W1 Β· MON JUL 6 – FRI JUL 10
Decisions + every long-lead order fired
Paul (owner) Β· landlord Β· fit-out GC
Mon–Tue: approve 7-AP design and ~β‚±294,224 budget estimate. Issue PO with 50% down: 6Γ— U7 Pro XGS + USW-Pro-XG-10-PoE + U-PoE++ injector spare + Cat6A materials β€” quotes from Prowatcher and a structured-cabling contractor, distributor pricing (MEC Networks / iConnect) as benchmark. Submit two ISP applications in parallel (RISE primary; PLDT Enterprise / Converge FlexiBIZ backup); same day, ask landlord which ISPs already have building-entry facilities + request riser access, ceiling-work permit, server-room power. Buy Smart/Globe 5G CPE with Ethernet out (~β‚±8,000) off the shelf.
milestone Fri Jul 10: PO issued Β· 2 ISP applications lodged Β· ceiling-close date confirmed in writing by fit-out GC.
W2 Β· MON JUL 13 – FRI JUL 17
Joint site survey + server-room readiness
Vendor + ISP + landlord (Paul reviews)
Walk the site with installer and ISP(s): verify ceiling type/void, mark 7 AP positions + 8 cable routes against the construction set (not DRAFT 02); confirm the 4.97 sqm server room gets a dedicated circuit, ventilation and earthing. Sign the winning ISP contract (RISE avg 1.8 wks from here β‰ˆ Jul 29 install). Order 12U wall rack, 1–1.5 kVA UPS, patch panel, keystones.
milestone Fri Jul 17: survey report + final AP layout signed Β· ISP survey done Β· ceiling-close date locked.
W3 Β· MON JUL 20 – FRI JUL 24
Cable pull while the ceiling is OPEN
Vendor crew (Paul supervises) Β· fit-out GC coordination
Pull 8 Cat6A drops (7 APs + 1 spare, 193 m total incl. slack) from the server-room star point; terminate patch panel + ceiling jacks; certify every link for 10G β€” printouts are a payment condition. Install rack, PDU, UPS. 2–3 days for a 2-man crew in an open-ceiling fit-out. Hardware delivery lands this week if the PO went out Jul 6–7.
milestone Fri Jul 24: all 8 links certified Β· hardware on site (or customs-cleared in Cebu).
W4 Β· MON JUL 27 – FRI JUL 31
Network build + AP mounting + fiber install target
Paul + vendor + ISP
Stage and adopt everything against the still-running old-office UCG-Fiber (or via UniFi Site Manager): firmware, VLANs 10/20/30/40, SSIDs, 802.1X/PPSK, min-RSSI + band steering. Mount the 7 APs after ceiling tiles go in β€” APs are the last ceiling trade. RISE fiber lands this week on the 1.8-wk average; bring the 5G CPE online as WAN2 regardless. Old-office gateway moves last β€” its move date is the old office's WiFi death date.
milestone Fri Jul 31: all APs adopted and broadcasting, on 5G uplink at minimum; fiber live = stretch.
W5 Β· MON AUG 3 – FRI AUG 7
Commissioning + acceptance test
Paul + vendor
Fiber cutover (or keep running on 5G if slipped); WAN failover test (pull fiber, verify <1 min switchover); walk-test heatmap at desk height across all zones; roaming test along the 27 m open-plan run; load test ~30 devices on one AP; punch list; vendor sign-off gates the 50% completion payment.
milestone Fri Aug 7: acceptance passed β€” WiFi production-ready with one week to spare.
W6 Β· MON AUG 10 – FRI AUG 14
Pure buffer + handover
Paul
One full week of float: absorbs a realistic ISP slip, late indent delivery, or a failed-link re-pull. If all green: as-built documentation vs the final (non-draft) plan, spares note, staff SSID onboarding, old-office gear decommission.
hard deadline Sat Aug 15 β€” office live before mid-August. verified no PH holidays inside the window.

Decisions needed THIS WEEK (by Fri Jul 10)

Approve budget + design

~β‚±294,224 VAT-inc capex estimate (excl. ISP recurring), 7-AP design. Every other action below is blocked on this signature. Full breakdown on BOM & Costs.

Issue the equipment PO (50% down)

6Γ— U7 Pro XGS + USW-Pro-XG-10-PoE + U-PoE++ injector + Cat6A materials, with a contractual delivery date β€” these are 2–4 week indent items in PH. Fallback if XGS slips: U7 Pro Max (PoE+, more commonly stocked).

Submit 2 ISP applications in parallel

RISE (primary β€” 1.8-wk avg install, Cebu commercial presence) + PLDT Enterprise or Converge FlexiBIZ (backup); cancel the loser later. Landlord confirms same-day which providers already have building entry β€” this single answer decides 2 weeks vs 2 months.

Ceiling-close date in writing

From the fit-out GC; book the W3 cable pull against it and get the WiFi installer named as a subcontractor in the fit-out schedule so trades don't collide.

Buy the 5G CPE now

Smart/Globe Ethernet-out CPE, ~β‚±8,000 + prepaid SIM, off the shelf. Day-one internet if fiber slips and the permanent failover (UCG-Fiber has no USB modem; U-LTE Backup is US-only) verified.

Dual-quote the installation

Keep Prowatcher as bidder (knows the account, sources Ubiquiti) but benchmark against a Cebu structured-cabling contractor at β‚±3,500–5,000 per certified drop estimate. Detail on Vendors & Quote.

PH calendar constraints

DateWhatTypeImpact on this project
Jul 6 – Aug 15Project windowclean No regular or special non-working day falls inside the window (Proclamation No. 1006) verified
Fri Aug 21Ninoy Aquino Dayspecial non-working First long weekend immediately after the deadline β€” vendors/ISP slow down
Mon Aug 31National Heroes Dayregular holiday Second long weekend in the slip zone β€” a 1–2 week slip lands in back-to-back holiday weeks
Jul – OctTyphoon / rainy season (Visayas)weather Outdoor ISP aerial/riser work and deliveries can lose days; W6 buffer absorbs this
Slipping past Aug 15 means slipping into holiday season A miss doesn't cost days β€” it compounds: Aug 21 + Aug 31 create two long weekends of vendor and ISP unavailability right after the deadline. Also note: weekend / after-hours work in commercial buildings needs landlord clearance (accredited contractors, work permits, sometimes after-hours-only rules for riser and ceiling work) β€” discovered late, this alone adds 1–2 weeks. Ask in the W1 landlord conversation.

Buffer strategy

W6 = pure buffer

Aug 10–14 is deliberately empty: one full week of float against ISP slip, a 4-week indent, or a failed-link re-pull. Do not schedule new scope into it.

5G CPE = internet decoupled from fiber

The ~β‚±8,000 CPE bought in W1 makes "WiFi live" independent of fiber delivery: the office opens on 5G WAN2 if fiber slips, and the same box stays as permanent failover afterward. The deadline stops depending on the slowest external party.

UCG-Fiber move = old-office WiFi death date

The reused gateway is also the controller: the moment it's unplugged, the old office goes dark. Stage and adopt the new switch + APs against it in W4, before it physically moves (or adopt via UniFi Site Manager), keep config backups, and move the gateway last on an agreed cutover day.

Sources & data

Week plan, lead times and holiday check from the project timeline research (data-raw/project-timeline.json, Gantt findings W1–W6). ISP benchmarks: RISE enterprise (rise.ph, publicly stated 1.8-wk avg business install) vs typical PH enterprise DIA 4–8 wks estimate. 2026 holidays: Proclamation No. 1006 (pco.gov.ph) verified. Hardware facts (PoE++ requirement, UCG-Fiber WAN2, no USB modem): techspecs.ui.com verified. Switch and drop counts follow the locked design (data/design.json) β€” the 10-port USW-Pro-XG-10-PoE supersedes the 8-port considered in early research (155 W budget < 203 W nameplate for 7 APs).
